This year, WestSide Baby turns 25. What began in 2001 as a one-woman operation in a West Seattle garage - driven by the desire to support local families struggling to afford basic items for their children - has grown into a community-powered organization serving thousands of local children and families every year. That growth has only been possible because of you – our supporters. Shining a Light on Diaper Need: WestSide Baby on KIRO 7 TV

Yesterday, we had the opportunity to host KIRO 7 TV in our warehouse to shine a light on diaper need in our community and discuss Bob Ferguson’s proposal to remove the sales tax on diapers in Washington. As the cost of living continues to rise in our state, far too many families continue to struggle to afford basic necessities like diapers, formula, and car seats for their children. A Night Out with WestSide Baby: Fun AND Impact!

What a night we had last Thursday, June 5th, at our annual fundraising event, A Night Out with WestSide Baby! Set against the backdrop of our working warehouse on a sunny Seattle evening, guests came from all parts of the city to learn more about our work, celebrate our nearly 25 years of impact, and raise funds to help sustain and expand our programs. There was laughter and tears, games played, heartfelt stories told, paddles raised, and funds generously donated. Thank you to all who came, to those who supported from afar, and to each of you who has supported our work and the families we serve over the past 24 years. We are grateful. From the Bottom Up, our region's largest diaper drive, kicks off March 1st, and runs through the end of the month!Did you know that 1 in 5 families in King County struggle to afford diapers? Every day, families face the impossible choice between diapers and other basic necessities. Diapers aren’t covered by traditional assistance programs, and this gap leaves caregivers feeling overwhelmed. But YOU can make a difference!In 2024, WestSide Baby distributed nearly 2.4 million diapers—thanks to supporters like YOU! Our partnerships allow us to bring diapers, wipes, and other critical supplies to families in low-resource areas, empowering caregivers to create a better, healthier future for their little ones. My name is Nick Peyton, and I've served on the Board of WestSide Baby since 2019, including two years as Chair. My journey with the organization is a deeply personal one and profoundly shaped by my own history. Nick Peyton, WSB Board Member The story of WestSide Baby’s impact on the community is one I know well. During my time as Chair, the world was changed by the pandemic, creating an even greater need for support in our community. After a Busy Summer – What’s Next?

Hi to our WestSide Baby Community! What a busy summer it’s been! We just wrapped up our From the Bottom Up campaign, our community’s largest annual diaper drive. Together, our community donated over 250,000 diapers. These diapers will be distributed to 5,000 children in the greater Seattle community. Because of an amazing foundation of support from our community, this summer we expanded our operations. We extended volunteer and donation collection hours, identified new collection sites, and continued bulk diaper distribution efforts amidst national diaper shortages. To top it off, we bolstered our leadership team with the addition of Interim Executive Director, Laura Skelton.
