Employer Matching Gifts

What Are Matching Gifts?

Many employers offer matching gift programs that match charitable donations and volunteer hours made by their employees. These programs allow you to increase the value of your support for WestSide Baby – often doubling or even tripling your impact – at no additional cost to you. When you take a few minutes to request a match from your employer, you help ensure more children in our community have the diapers, clothing, and essential items they need.

How to Find Out if Your Company Matches

Many companies offer matching gift programs. To see if your employer participates:

  • Check your company’s intranet or employee benefits portal.
  • Search for “matching gifts,” “employee giving,” or “volunteer hour matching.”
  • Ask your HR representative or manager if a matching program is available.

If your employer uses a matching platform (such as Benevity, CyberGrants, or YourCause), you can often look up “WestSide Baby” directly in their database.

Companies that frequently contribute to WestSide Baby through a matching gift program:

  • Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation
  • Boeing
  • Costco Wholesale
  • Getty Images
  • Google
  • Microsoft
  • Nordstrom
  • Starbucks
  • T-Mobile
  • Weyerhauser

My employer does matching! Now what?

Some companies may ask for a copy of the email you received after making a gift, or for the following information about WestSide Baby:

Nonprofit Status: 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization
Legal Name: WestSide Baby
Address: 10002 14th Ave SW, Seattle WA 98146
Tax ID number/EIN: 91-212-4405

Once your match is approved, your employer will send the matched funds directly to WestSide Baby, expanding your impact for the children and families we serve. Thank you for considering a matching gift as a way to expand your support of families in our community!
